F3b Tip: CIQ Activity Naming

Most do not know about this hidden setting for Garmin >>

At https://connect.garmin.com you can set the activity naming for your account. Login (https://connect.garmin.com), select the Profile & Account Icon (top right)> Account Settings> Display Preferences> Activity Name> Select ‘Location & Devices Activity Name’.

There are four options:

❌ ‘Workout Name’ Example: Chicago – Hill Training (Not Recommend).

  • Does not work for all models.

❌ ‘Location and Type’ Example: Chicago Cycling. Garmin Connect will provide the activity type. (Not Recommend)

  • This will override App naming. (i.e. Chicago Footbike will show as Chicago Cycling)

✅ ‘Location & Devices Activity Name’ Example: Chicago Footbike. Your device App will provide the activity name.

❌ ‘Untitled’. Example: Untitled All activities are set to ‘Untitled’ (Not Recommend)
