Howto Elliptical
1.) Watch must be worn on your wrist!
2.) Watch hand MUST be on the MOVING Elliptical Arm.
— i.e. your hand and watch must move with the elliptical or the app will not work.
3.) Hold the elliptical arm with your watch hand ‘loosely’. This allows your watch to have more sudden movement. For example, when you pull the elliptical arm, allow your watch hand to pull away from the handle (1/2 inch or 1 cm) and when you push the elliptical arm, your hand will quickly push against the elliptical handle. This sudden movement is needed for the watch to interpret a revolution.

Elliptical Configuration
Stride Length setting allows adjustment to match your elliptical distance and RPM.
Code and Email  with purchase the your code and email will unlock the Application
Using Bike Cadence Sensor, this setting corrects RPM for the use of a Bike Cadence sensor.
-Some Bike Cadence sensors require divide by 2 –  use if cadence is doubled.

The easiest way to adjust is to A.) workout for 5 minutes, B.) the adjust Stride Length value until the watch distance matches.
5.) enable backlight use menu button
6.) Chest HRM (RUN, RUN2 red or blue), or Running Dynamics Pod will give improved results. (using together not recommended)
7.) Bike Cadence Sensor with HRM best result
8.) For IQ 2.x watches without HRM or Bike Cadence, use the High Frequency Accelerometer Function.
-This greatly increase accuracy of the watch, this setting must be set before starting the activity.
-Chest-HRM cadence and bike cadence sensor are ignored when used

Howto StairMaster+
1.) Watch must be worn on your wrist!
2.) If you don’t have a Chest HRM, Footpod or Running Dynamics Pod, your Watch hand MUST be MOVING on indoor equipment.

WARNING: The app is intended only as an in-flight aid and should not be used as a primary information source. If the app contains a barometric altimeter, it will not function in a pressurized aircraft and should not be used in a pressurized aircraft.

This multi-page application provides live course navigation, distance remaining and ETE to a way-point and to the return position were the flight began. The Destination (Long/Lat) Way-points entered through Connect App or Garmin Express. Way-points can be changed with phone during flight.  Supports two way points. If a second navigation way point is used, the way-point will automatic switch to the second way-point.  To override the automatic way point switch, the second way point can be set as the course by pressing the lap button.
NOTE: The navigation uses a 1 Km radius of the navigation waypoint to switch to the final destination.

How to use:

Heart Monitor / Heart Monitor +HRV APP

WARNING:  The app should not be used as a primary information source and is for enjoyment purposes only.  All information, content, and material of this app is for informational purposes only and are not intended to serve as a substitute for the consultation, diagnosis, and/or medical treatment of a qualified physician or healthcare provider.    If you have a medical emergency, call your doctor or 911 (USA) [112 (EU)] immediately.

The Heart Monitor Datafield and HeartMonitor+HRV App are part of a monitoring suite.  Your code purchase will work for both the app and data field.

The App is intended for pre-workout or daily Heart+HRV monitoring.

The Data Field is intended to be used during activity and allows users to see un-filtered heart data.  Add this data field to, any Garmin Built-in App as a single data screen.  The data field only works with an Ant+ HRM.  The HRM MUST be set to OFF in the watch settings.

The HeartMonitor+ HRM app will work alone with the optical sensor, it measures the InterBeat Interval (IbI)* vs. the HRM which measures the R-R interval.  *The RR data will override the IBI data since the RR is higher quality.
For the RR Interval to function, the sensor must be disabled in the watch (Settings>Sensors>HR-NUMBER>Status OFF) and for best accuracy use “Every Second” recording setting in the watch (Settings>System>Data Recording> set to Every Second).  The HRM is disabled, due to, the app creates a direct link to the HRM.  The App requires more information that what the Garmin interface provides.  The HRM alone provides significantly more information.
The Datafield and App will post all data to the FIT file: the raw RR heart rate, RR-interval, HRM Heartrate (unfiltered), HRV from the HRM or optical. The HRM will override the Optical data since it is higher quality and has data redundancy, where the optical does not (Garmin limitation).
Here is a Link to my data from a HRV reading
Here is just one Graph of data you would see using Connect Web. I suggest using the web Connect.garmin.com interface, since website will show more data than the Connect App, the connect app will reduce graph samples in order to save memory.  The Web site does not.

AutoLap by Position

How the Autolap by position works, at the the Activity Start, the app remembers the start location, every time you pass the start location the App will Autolap.
If you press the Manual Lap, a second lap by location will be used. And every time you pass the Start Location and the Manual Lap location, the App will AutoLap.
The auto lap function uses a the default 25 meter radius(40m diameter) circle, once you enter the Autolap circle the app will Autolap when you start to move away from the GPS Lap Location.  If your missing laps use the larger radius in configuration.

Consider the picture below, the yellow dot is the GPS Autolap location.  The Green arrows is the direction traveling.  Once you enter the circle, the app will auto lap.  In this case it will lap as you cross the Yellow dot(at the redline).

If you entered the 25m radius circle and turned around (at the Blue Arrow) and leave the circle the App will Autolap at the Red Dot

How your laps will look.

Few suggestions,

1.) The app needs a good GPS lock, wait until the GPS is GREEN.
2.) Set Data Recording to every second.  This is located in the watch, under the main menu, Settings>System>Data Recording> set to every second.

Distance and Speed are 0 in Connect App
Currently the Connect App Developers are not allowing 3rd party IQ developers to override the main values.  I am attending the Connect Summit 2018 to discuss this issue with Garmin,

The main values I provide to Connect App / Connect web page are ignored by Garmin Connect,. I have three separate threads on this issue in forum.garmn.com.
Thread1 Thread2 Thread3
All threads are ignored, too. The problem is the Garmin Connect developers do not follow their own SDK Fit Contributor class ‘nativeNum’, which is an override to data in the fit file.
If you would view your activity on mapmyrun or endomondo you will see your main distance and speed, but not in Garmin Connect.
As a workaround, I provide the distance in the stats section at the bottom (twice)

1.)in meters (for Garmin)
2.)in the watch native units.
I encourage you to complain to “Garmin Connect Developers” (in the forums threads above) to follow the IQ SDK Fit Contributor class ‘nativeNum’, which overrides the data in the FIT file.

“!” Issue:
Sorry your having an ‘!’ issue, typically my apps are are bug free.  The issue typically is a Connect App install issue or a firmware installation problem.
First, uninstall the app is crashing, restart the watch and reinstall the app. This typically corrects the incomplete installation error.
Second, Try using Garmin Express for installing apps, this is the most reliable installation method.
Next, If an ‘!’ Is still happening, check the user profile in the watch.  After an firmware update, the update may change the profile to unknown values and will cause 3rd party apps to crash.  Verify the age, weight and heart rate zones.
Finally, if the error stills occurs there could be a bug and I may ask for a log file and to run special debug code to help find the hidden bug.
The log file is log can found at
x:\garmin\apps\log.    Send all files.  “X” is the Microsoft Windows drive letter.

Missing App:
All Fbbbrown apps need to be downloaded from apps.garmin.com.
If you update/install and you don’t see the app. Update or the install may require a restart of watch.
